CZ108 (governed by British Standards BS 2870 for sheet and strip, BS 2873 for wire, and BS 2875 for plate; cross-referenced internationally as UNS C27200 / C27400 or European EN CW508L / CuZn37) is a classic single-phase (α) wrought alpha brass. Formulated with 61.0% to 64.0% copper and a zinc balance with a tightly controlled maximum lead content of 0.07%, CZ108 is engineered specifically for severe cold-forming, deep drawing, spinning, and bending operations. Maintaining a homogeneous face-centered cubic alpha crystal structure at room temperature, CZ108 possesses high ductility and malleability. It is widely recognized as the British industrial standard for stamped metal shells, intricate architectural components, and deep-drawn industrial vessels.
