UNS C26800 (standardized under ASTM B36 / B36M for plate, sheet, strip, and rolled bar, ASTM B134 for wire, and ASTM B587 for welded pipe; historically known as Yellow Brass, 65% or CuZn33) is a single-phase (α) wrought alpha brass. Formulated with 65.0% to 68.5% copper and a zinc balance, C26800 provides an intermediate transition between Cartridge Brass (C26000) and Yellow Brass (C27200). Occupying the upper boundary of single-phase alpha brasses, C26800 delivers high cold-forming plasticity combined with increased tensile strength. It is widely specified for architectural stampings, eyelets, spun lamp components, and deep-drawn industrial shells that require a bright golden finish.
