CuZn37 (standardized under European Norm EN 12164 / EN 1652 as CW508L, historically referenced under German DIN W.Nr. 2.0321, British BS 2870/2873 CZ108, or American UNS C27200) is the benchmark single-phase (α) wrought brass. Formulated with 62.0% to 64.0% copper and a zinc balance with a tightly restricted maximum lead content of 0.10%, CuZn37 is globally recognized as the classic "cartridge brass" for high-ductility forming. Maintaining a homogeneous face-centered cubic alpha crystal structure, CuZn37 offers exceptional cold-plasticity, allowing it to withstand severe multi-stage deep drawing, spinning, press-brake bending, and bulbous expansion without edge or wall cracking.
